Practical guides

Three ways to get the most from Perspectiv CRM.

Pick a guide to set up CRM for your goals.

Guide 01

Define account ownership

Decide how to structure your accounts, who owns them and how you name them, before your first import.

  1. Agree what an account is.Prospects, customers, partners and vendors are all accounts. Type and lifecycle stage tell them apart.
  2. Name the owners. Each account has a principal, an executive and a manager owner. Agree what each role means at your firm.
  3. Group related companies.Use parent accounts for groups and their subsidiaries.
  4. Set naming rules.Agree whether you use the legal or trading name, and how to write it, so everyone finds the same record.

Guide 02

Shape your pipeline

Set up your stages to match how you sell, and agree how your team keeps each deal moving.

  1. Start from a ready-made pipeline.Perspectiv includes pipelines for different kinds of business. Copy one and adjust it.
  2. Name stages after what has happened.A stage like Proposal sent is clearer than Stage 3.
  3. Set probability and forecast for each stage.Deals then take them from their stage, and a change needs a reason.
  4. Add a second pipeline only when the process differs. For example, new business and renewals.
  5. Agree the next-step habit.Every open deal has a next step and a close date.

Guide 03

Prepare accounts and contacts for import

Get your data ready, clean and in the right columns, then test with a small file first.

  1. One row per account or contact.Keep each record on a single row, with one column per field.
  2. Clean up duplicates first.Merge duplicate rows in your spreadsheet before you import.
  3. Match your columns to fields.Use the field names your team will see in Perspectiv.
  4. Start with a small test file.Perspectiv checks every row before anything is saved, so you can fix problems first.
